Alex Puryear, Mesa Fire Connector Program

Alex Puryear is a full-time student at ASU studying emergency management and who hopes to be a firefighter.  He also works at Brand X Custom Tee Shirts.

Alex has been a volunteer since August of 2010.  He joined the program because he was inspired by what the Connectors did and felt that he too could help the community while helping advance his future firefighting career.  He also participated in the Mesa Fire Cadet program.

While volunteering for our department he shares this moving moment that affected him.  “The most moving moment was when we were painting fire hydrants in a neighborhood and out of nowhere an older gentleman came out and overly expressed how appreciative he was that we were doing that.  It showed me the true impact we can have on our community.”
